The European Technology Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC- Platformi) is pleased to announce that its fourth European Conference on Renewable Heating and Cooling will take place in Dublin, Ireland, from 22 to 23 April 2013.
The conference, which is organised with the financial support of the European Commission, will be held under the auspices of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This high level event takes place in parallel to the informal meeting of the EU Ministers for Energy, also to be held in Dublin.
The development of renewable heating and cooling (RHC) is conclusively a driver for Europe's competitiveness, creating new industries, jobs, economic growth and security of supply. Renewable energy growth is to be expected under any future
scenarios developed by the European Commission however further research, development and demonstration is needed to ensure that RHC technology moves from being a niche sector to a major player in the European energy market.
The 2013 European Conference on Renewable Heating and Cooling will focus on the roadmap to realise the potential of RHC at both EU and national level. Here are some of the key issues addressed at the event.
Where do we stand today and what needs to be done to successfully implement the European Strategic Research Agenda for Renewable Heating and Cooling?
Which are the most urgent priorities to enable the growth of the RHC sector?
Which are the latest trends in terms of financing technology and which is the outlook for renewable heating and cooling under the new EU financial perspectives (2014 – 2020)?
The conference will provide a unique forum to gain valuable insights into the cutting edge technologies at the forefront of the European renewable heating and cooling market development. Stakeholders from all RHC industries - such as biomass, geothermal, solar thermal, heat pumps, thermal energy storage and district heating and cooling sector - as well as researchers, technical experts, policy makers and other market players will have the opportunity to listen and discuss the latest trends and developments.
